More Than 1,400 New Products Entered for SEMA Awards—See the Winners Here


	X PRIZE Chairman Dr. Peter Diamandis spoke about the future influence of specialty-equipment businesses at the 2009 SEMA Show New Product Awards Breakfast.

The 2009 SEMA Show kicked off with the annual New Product Awards Breakfast, where some of the hottest new products for 2010 received their first of many accolades. This year's breakfast featured X PRIZE Chairman and CEO Dr. Peter H. Diamandis.

Diamandis is an international leader in the commercial space arena, having founded and run many of the leading entrepreneurial companies in the sector. While addressing the audience, Diamandis explained this simple approach to his business endeavors: change what people believe is possible.

He shared with attendees his belief that the decisions automakers and specialty-equipment companies make now will influence and, in some cases, change what people will drive in future generations.

He also says that small groups of individuals with ideas supported by technology will shape the future, a reality he referred to as "revolution through competition."

The New Products Award Breakfast recognizes the most cutting-edge automotive products either on the market or about to hit the market. This year, more than 1,400 new products were submitted for consideration. Criteria that ranked high on the judges' selection for the New Products Showcase Awards included superiority of innovation, technical achievement, quality and workmanship, consumer appeal and marketability.

Best New Performance-Street Product Winner: Sprint Booster USA, Sprint Booster for the 2010 Camaro Manual Transmission 1st Runner-Up: McLeod Clutches, McLeod M-800 Series Five-Speed Manual Transmission 2nd Runner-Up: Nitrous Express, SAFE (Stand Alone Fuel Enrichment) Nitrous Enrichment Tank

Sprint Booster USA received the award for Best New Performance-Street product with its Sprint Booster for the 2010 Camaro.
Best New Street-Rod/Custom-Car Product Winner: MasterShift, MasterShift Shift Lever Relocation Hardware for TKO and T56 Transmissions 1st Runner-Up: American Autowire, Highway 15 Nostalgia Hot Rod Wiring Kit 2nd Runner-Up: Coker Tire, Excelsior Stahl Sport Radial

MasterShift took home a best new product award for its Shift Lever Relocation kit for TKO and T56 transmissions.
Best New Tools and Equipment Product Winner: TCA Toolstorage, TCA HD 41-inch Tool Storage Solution 1st Runner-Up: Z Wrench, Z WRENCH 2nd Runner-Up: Orange Electronic Co. Ltd., Orange Programmable Sensor System

Judges awarded TCA Toolstorage honors for Best New Tools & Equipment product.
Best New Merchandising Display Winner: MacNeil Automotive Products Ltd., WeatherTech Floor Mat Rolling Waterfall Rack with Add-On Display 1st Runner-Up: Dee Zee Inc., Dee Zee 3-Tier Poly Chest Display 2nd Runner-Up: Flaming River Industries, Countertop Billet Joint U-Joint Display

MacNeil's WeatherTech display won the award for Best New Merchandising Display.
Best New Mobile-Electronics Product Winner: PLX Devices Inc., Kiwi Wi-Fi 1st Runner-Up: Palmer Performance Engineering Inc., DashCommand 2nd Runner-Up: GoPro, HD Motorsports HERO Best New Interior Accessory Product

The PLX Kiwi Wi-Fi received the award for Best New Mobile Electronics Product.
Best New Interior Accessory Winner: Bully Dog Technologies, Watchdog 1st Runner-Up: Husky Liners, WeatherBeater Custom Molded Floor Liners 2nd Runner-Up: Ultimate Truck Gear Ltd., UTG - Billet Aluminum Instrument Pods

The award for Best New Interior Accessory went to Bully Dog for its Watchdog.
Best New Off-Road/4-Wheel Drive Product Winner: Rescue 42, JackMate 1st Runner-Up: American Expedition Vehicles, ProCal Module 2nd Runner-Up: Bushwacker Inc., JK Flat Style Flare - Front and Rear Set

The JackMate from Rescue 42 took Best New Off-Road/4-Wheel Drive honors.
Best New Packaging Display Winner: AE Distributing, Countour HD 1080p 1st Runner-Up: Grant Products, Airbag Steering Wheel Package 2nd Runner-Up: Putco Inc., NOVA Bulb

AE Distributing won the Best New Packaging Display award for its Contour HD product.
Best New Performance-Racing Product Winner: Phenix Industries, Speedlox 1st Runner-Up: Zeitronix, Ethanol Content Analyzer Kit 2nd Runner-Up: Calculated Industries, Hot Rod Calc

Speedlox locking fittings took the Best New Performance-Racing Product award for Phenix Industries.
